Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026. This is shorter than it looks because we genuinely don't do much with your data.
The short version
We don't track you. We don't sell your data. We don't have analytics. We don't use third-party advertising. We're not Mailchimp, and unlike Mailchimp, this isn't just marketing copy, we literally have no infrastructure to do any of this. We're two people and a server.
What we collect and why
Payment information
When you donate, you're redirected to Stripe to complete payment. Your card number, billing address, and payment details go directly to Stripe. We never see them. We don't store them. We wouldn't know what to do with them if we had them.
What we do receive from Stripe: a confirmation that a payment was completed, an amount, and a session ID. We use the session ID to verify your download is legitimate. That's it.
Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy. They are a large, well-funded company with lawyers. Their policy is much longer than ours.
Contact form
If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message. We use this to reply to you. We don't add you to any list. We don't sell your email. We don't even have a list to add you to. If you never contact us again, we will not contact you either. This is how most adults prefer things.
Server logs
Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp, browser type). These exist so we can diagnose problems and stop bad actors. We don't analyse them commercially. They're kept for a reasonable period and then deleted. If you're very worried about this, consider that this is true of every website you've ever visited, including much worse ones.
Cookies
We don't use cookies for tracking or analytics. Stripe may set cookies as part of their payment flow. Those are Stripe's cookies, governed by their policy, and they disappear when you close the payment page.
We don't use: Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, HotJar, Intercom, Mixpanel, Segment, or any other surveillance capitalism infrastructure. This isn't virtue, we just can't be bothered.
Third parties
The only third-party service we use is Stripe for payment processing. We don't have social sharing buttons, embedded YouTube videos, Google Fonts loaded remotely, or any other mechanism that would let a third party know you visited this site.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. If you are under 13, you probably shouldn't be spending $30 on software without telling a parent. Also, if you're under 13 and running a business that needs invoicing software, we are simultaneously impressed and concerned.
Data requests
If you'd like to know what data we hold about you, want it deleted, or have any other data-related request, contact us. We'll look through our very small database and get back to you. The answer will probably be "we have your email and a Stripe session ID" but we'll confirm.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above. We won't email you about it because we don't have your email address unless you contacted us. If that upsets you, you now understand why every other website asks you to subscribe to their newsletter.
Contact
Privacy questions can be sent via our contact page. We don't have a DPO, a compliance team, or a dedicated privacy inbox. Just us. We'll reply when we can.
